The body of these Primero cajons is constructed using MDF, Medium-density Fiberboard which creates a solid and durable sound chamber. Four of these models feature Meranti faceplates. Meranti is a wood known for its relative hardness and straight grain making it ideal for cajons. A built in bass port magnifies the massive low-end tone of the cajon while two sets of fixed snare wires provide a bright, crisp snare response. Each of these Primero cajons feature a look as distinctive as the percussionist who play them.
The Figured Cherry Cajon features a stunning figured Cherry faceplate. Cherry is a fine grained hardwood with darker wavy streaks. Because of its hardness, tonally cherry is a close match to maple and when used on a cajon provides more bottom-end.
